My Role

As a Product Designer Intern at Mercury Health, I specialized in creating strategic marketing materials, including brochures and product guides, to effectively translate complex healthcare information into clear and compelling narratives. Additionally, I contributed to the redesign of senior healthcare digital platforms, utilizing user feedback and research insights to enhance functionality and improve user satisfaction.

What is Mercury Health?

Mercury Health, now rebranded as Mercury Alert AI, specializes in AI-powered passive monitoring solutions designed to enhance the safety, independence, and well-being of older adults at home and within communities. By utilizing advanced motion-sensing AI algorithms, their hands-free, non-wearable devices detect emergencies in real time and promptly alert caregivers, ensuring timely assistance. These innovative solutions are tailored for private residences and senior living communities, providing enhanced support and peace of mind for caregivers and families.

What I learned...

Comprehensive Exposure in a Startup Environment: Working in an all-hands-on-deck startup setting, I gained firsthand experience in juggling diverse responsibilities, from user research and platform redesigns to marketing and social media strategy. This exposure strengthened my adaptability and cross-functional collaboration skills.
Deep Insights into Senior Healthcare: Through extensive research, I explored the challenges of designing for older adults, including accessibility, trust, and ease of use. I learned to align design solutions with market needs, such as the rising demand for passive monitoring technologies that ensure safety and independence.
Impactful Communication through Design: I created brochures and product guides to simplify complex healthcare information into engaging and easy-to-understand visuals. This process taught me how to effectively communicate technical details to a broad audience, balancing clarity and precision.
